Sioux Falls Rotary South Club

Service Above Self

Sioux Falls Rotary South strives to live the Rotary International motto of "service above self" as a core value for our club. As the newest club in the Sioux Falls area, we are a bit more relaxed and casual in our make-up.

Meetings are (most) Tuesdays at 5:30pm - Look's Marketplace

Please consider coming to future meeting and get to know us!

Engaging in Service

This is our core focus!

We strive to do a service event every month. Some are smaller in scope (filling bags for Journey of Hope), some are larger (serving at the Banquet), and some involve one of our favorite things -- supporting a project/event by serving their patrons a beverage of their choice at Harrisburg Days, Corks n' Kegs, and Brewhaha!

Learning about our Community

Awareness Builds Understanding

Our regular meetings will usually include a program where we learn more about what is going on in our community. We hear from area non-profits, local school districts, learn about our environment, better understand various economic directions within our communities, and more.

Fun d-Raising

Our fundraising efforts serve a purpose: they support our service projects. These dollars allow us to do more and have a larger impact with the service focused grants that we have been given.  Our fall fundraiser is the Monday Night Football books. They are $25 each and each book has a chance to win every week. Contact a Rotary South member to get one, or email us at: sfrotarysouth@gmail.com

Our spring fundraiser is in the planning stages.

Social Activities

We are a club that likes to work to make a difference AND have some fun as well.  We always have a bit of a social time prior to each meeting. We also plan at least one social-only time each quarter. These include an annal "dip competition", annual holiday party, end-of-the-year club picnic, and others.

Rotary South - District Grant Projects

pollinator garden

The idea for the pollinator garden resulted from a club program from the SDSU Extension Office during our "ag month" which highlighted the importance of pollinators in our community. This garden supports the community garden plot sponsored by and in partnership with Avera Health.

Reach literacy

Several SF Rotary South members volunteered with Reach Literacy in their "BEE a Reader" program to read books via Zoom to second grade students at one of the Title 1 schools in the Sioux Falls School District. Our club provided funds for the books and other resources in support of this project.

Children's Inn

Our club worked with the Children's Inn (now known as Children's Home Shelter for Family Safety) to purchase much needed supplies for children and families seeking safe temporary shelter. We also volunteered during the holiday season at their gift wrap station in the Empire Mall to help with their greater fundraising efforts.
